Jeanne Drevas

Jeanne Drevas is someone who wants to make something out of nothing, not that the materials she uses are nothing.  Drevas gleans materials that are around her and ponders what those materials want to do now.  She moved to Oregon three years ago from a sparsely inhabited area in the mountains of Virginia where she had built her handmade hippie house (now there is an example of making something from nothing) and made things out of hand collected bark and other natural materials.

She now lives near Sheridan, Oregon in a new passive solar home and had been casting about for what she wanted to do next in the way of gleaning and making and somehow used skate boards came to her. She loves the distressed graphics, the strength and beauty of 7 ply maple plywood, the life that these decks once provided to skate boarders and now she is seeing just what they offer to her.
