Giselle Gautreau Sold Work

I draw inspiration from the landscape and the natural world. I have a love of color and light and
look for moments that are evocative to me on a personal level. In my work I paint with numerous
layers of oil or encaustic paints, using both opaque and translucent layers to achieve depth,
atmosphere and luminosity. Themes that recur in my work include references to sky, water,
trees, tidal marshes, fog, birds and bees.
